About the Instructors
Erin Carr – Level 1 & 2
Erin Carr Adams is an ensemble member, teacher, and trainer with CSz Indianapolis, as well as a professional writer and college instructor at Ivy Tech Community College. Erin has a MA in Professional Writing from DePaul University and a BA in Theatre from Middlebury College.
Erin returned to her home city of Indianapolis in 2011 after living in Chicago for eight years. In Chicago, Erin was an ensemble member and teacher at ComedySportz Chicago. She also performed short-form improvisation, long-form improvisation, sketch and variety comedy around the Windy City at theaters including iO Chicago, The Second City Training Center, The Playground, The Laugh Out Loud Theater, The Willamette Theater, and The Kiss Kiss Cabaret. In addition to playing ComedySportz in Indianapolis, Erin hosts and co-produces The 10@10 Comedy Open Mic at CSz Indianapolis. She also performs standup throughout Indianapolis and performs regularly with her two-woman improv group “Eri/yn”.
Jim Ansaldo, a veteran improviser of over 25 years, joined the ComedySportz player roster in 2013. Since the early 1990s, Jim has taught performance classes for aspiring improvisers in several cities around the US. Jim also is an experienced instructor of applied improvisation — using the core skills of improv (listening, agreeing, supporting, taking competent risks, and letting go of mistakes) to enhance professional practice in business, educational, and therapeutic settings. Jim recently co-created and co-directed Camp Yes, And — a two-week improv camp for teens on the autism spectrum and teachers held at Indiana University Bloomington. In 2012, Jim earned a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana University, and he has over fifteen years of experience in designing and facilitating professional development for teachers through Indiana University’s Center on Education and Lifelong Learning.
Eryn Bowser – Level 1 & 2
Eryn has been doing improv in some performing capacity or another for the past 16 years, and has been a player with CSz Indianapolis for 4. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Studies from Anderson University in 2007 and since then has worked with WiseMouth Improv (using improvisation techniques to reinforce and augment curriculum in high school English classes), Picture This! Interactive Theater, Actors in Business, and CSz Indianpolis as a GUTS trainer. In these groups, she has done everything from teaching small children about bullying (with puppets!) to training new supervisors on how to communicate effectively, with many more things in between. She has taught workshops and master classes at camps and churches all over the nation as well as with CYT in Indianapolis. Eryn is also a local actor and lighting designer who has worked with TOTS, The Phoenix, Wisdom Tooth Theatre Project, The Theater Within, the improv duo Eri/yn, Going…Going…Gone!, the Indy Fringe, and others. She has also recently taken on a new challenge as the ComedySportz Indianapolis High School League Director.
Jon Colby – Level 1, 2, & 3
Jon Colby has been teaching, performing, and directing improv professionally since 1998. He began his career at ComedySportz Indianapolis where he has remains an active member. In Indianapolis, Jon founded the short-form troupe, Fun Monkey, and co-founded the long-form troupe, Fun Dumpster. Upon acceptance to the conservatory at Second City, Jon moved to Chicago to further his improv training and career. He took workshops with several improv gurus, including Mick Napier, Norm Holly, and Michael Gelman. He is proud to say that he has performed on the stages at ComedySportz Chicago, Second City, iO (formerly Improv Olympic), and the Playground. Recently, Jon returned to Indianapolis where he remains an active improv performer both locally and regionally.
Michael has been performing with ComedySportz Indianapolis since 2003. Along with being the Director of Customer Relations at CSz Indianapolis, home of ComedySportz, he is a professional actor, appearing at Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre and many other Indianapolis stages.
Ben Fraley – Level 1 & 2
Ben Fraley, a member of the CSz Indianapolis Roster since 2013, has been involved in organized comedy since college. Previously a mainstay in the sketch comedy world, he now performs and teaches improv regularly. He has performed with Footlite Musicals, Buck Creek Players, and in many shows for IndyFringe. In his free time, he enjoys video games, shenanigans, and Jerry Seinfeld impressions. Danke Schoen!
Todd has been an improviser for the past 13 years, and a member of ComedySportz since 2007. He began his Improv experience through the Second City Training Center and has never looked back. He is a member of a local sketch comedy group, Three Dollar Bill Comedy, where he serves as a writer, director, and performer. He also has performed in several productions by Defiance Comedy.
Rick Randjelovic has been a member of ComedySportz since 2002 and was named Best Workshop Leader in 2013. In his “real job”, one of Rick’s specialties is designing and conducting training for adult learners. In his spare time, Rick enjoys being outdoors, music, and overanalyzing his own life.
Dave is one of the founding members of ComedySportz Indianapolis. Dave has performed in Dramas, Comedies and Musicals at many Indianapolis theatres including The Phoenix Theatre, American Cabaret, and Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre. Dave is a big fan of Dr. Who, The Simpsons and Target.
Ed is a founding member, co-owner, and Artistic Director of ComedySportz Indianapolis. Ed has been working in improvisational theatre for more than twenty years, and started performing ComedySportz matches in 1993. Since then he has performed, taught, and participated in improv workshops all across the country. He has taught improvisational skills to thousands of people over the years, applying them in both theatrical and corporate settings.
Claire Wilcher – Level 1, 2, & 3
Claire has been performing with ComedySportz since 2004, and is now traveling across the US of A to play at every ComedySportz city as part of the ComedySportz World Tour 2015. Outside of CSz, Claire performs with Three Dollar Bill Comedy (of which she is a founding member), the Phoenix Theatre, and Bobdirex, among other companies. Claire’s favorite game is Five Thingz, and she very much enjoys bleu cheese.
