Current Class Schedule
Level 1: Beginning Improv
8 Mondays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM starting June 3, 2013 IMPROV 101- This workshop is for the beginners with no practical experience in theatrical improvisation. This workshop will cover the basics such as: overcoming inhibitions; listening; agreement; working as an ensemble; full use of the body; as well as starting to find characters. 8 Sundays from 5:30PM to 7:30 PM, starting June 2, 2013 IMPROV 201- This intermediate workshop is for people who have completed Improv 101, or who have a limited amount of experience with improvisation. The focus of this workshop will be on creating and sustaining improvised scenes. It will also further explore improvising characters and environment, as well as introducing the elements of rhyming and wordplay. Enroll HERELevel 3: Advanced Improv
8 Tuesdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, starting June 4, 2013 IMPROV 301- This performance level workshop is designed for people who have completed Improv 201 or who at least have some experience performing improvisation. In addition to introducing music, this workshop will teach styles, games and approaches to performing for a live audience. This workshop will culminate in a final performance to which students may invite friends and family. Enroll HEREAll workshops are $195.00. All workshops are 8 weeks long, with each class running 2 hours in length.

About the Instructors
Erin Carr-Adams – Level 1 & 2
Jon Colby - Level 1, 2, & 3
Jon Colby has been teaching, performing, and directing improv professionally since 1998. He began his career at ComedySportz Indianapolis where he has remains an active member. In Indianapolis, Jon founded the short-form troupe, Fun Monkey, and co-founded the long-form troupe, Fun Dumpster. Upon acceptance to the conservatory at Second City, Jon moved to Chicago to further his improv training and career. He took workshops with several improv gurus, including Mick Napier, Norm Holly, and Michael Gelman. He is proud to say that he has performed on the stages at ComedySportz Chicago, Second City, iO (formerly Improv Olympic), and the Playground. Recently, Jon returned to Indianapolis where he remains an active improv performer both locally and regionally.
Michael Davis -Level 1, 2, & 3
Michael has been performing with ComedySportz Indianapolis since 2003. Along with being the Director of Customer Relations at ComedySportz Indianapolis, he is a professional actor, appearing at Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre and many other Indianapolis stages.
Andrea Lott Haney- Level 1 & 2
Andrea has been a member of ComedySportz Indianapolis since 2002. Having trained at IRT, Indiana University, and Second City in Chicago, Andrea has performed and taught improvisational theatre for clients such as American Cabaret Theatre, ComedySportz Indianapolis, Picture This, and Children’s Theatre Institute. Andrea produced, directed and acted in two seasons of Greenwood Shakespeare in the Park with Safe House Productions, Inc. Her professional career also includes performances as a stand-up comedian at both Crackers in Indianapolis and One Liners in Greenwood and burlesque performances with Angel Burlesque.
Woody Rau- Level 1 & 2
Woody has been delighting ComedySportz fanz with his shenanigans since 1993. He can also be seen in the feature film “Lil Treasure Hunters (as seen on the Showtime network). Woody is also Indy’s best Karaoke DJ!
Dave Ruark- Level 1, 2, & 3
Dave is one of the founding members of ComedySportz Indianapolis. Dave has performed in Dramas, Comedies and Musicals at many Indianapolis theatres including The Phoenix Theatre, American Cabaret, and Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre. Dave is a big fan of Dr. Who, The Simpsons and Target.
Ed Trout- Level 1, 2 & 3
Ed is a founding member, co-owner, and Artistic Director of ComedySportz Indianapolis. Ed has been working in improvisational theatre for more than twenty years, and started performing ComedySportz matches in 1993. Since then he has performed, taught, and participated in improv workshops all across the country. He has taught improvisational skills to thousands of people over the years, applying them in both theatrical and corporate settings.
Claire Wilcher - Level 1, 2, & 3
Claire has been performing with ComedySportz since 2004, and is now the Assistant Artistic Director, Marketing Maven, and High School League Guru. Outside of CSz, Claire performs with Three Dollar Bill Comedy (of which she is a founding member), the Phoenix Theatre, and Bobdirex, among other companies. Claire’s favorite game is Five Thingz, and she very much enjoys bleu cheese.
